A brief history of Valentine’s Day:
Mid-February festivities have been practiced since the ancient pagan feast of Lupercalia, which honored Juno, goddess of women and marriage. In 496 CE, Pope Gelasius named February 14 for the patron saint of lovers, St. Valentine. Today, Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate the ones we love.
This quote by van Gogh demonstrates how love unites us all.
Love is something eternal; the aspect may change, but not the essence.
-Vincent van Gogh
Have a great Valentine’s Day!
